All right, so finally it is here, the much awaited 3D notebook from Acer. It was way back in June when we first heard of such type of a device being developed by Acer but now, almost four months later, we are actually seeing the real thing. The all new Acer Aspire 5738DG 3D notebook has been officially launched by Acer 15.10.09. It is the first notebook of this type to get a formal launch.

So, what is so great about this notebook? Well, the Acer Aspire 5738DG 3D notebook is the first notebook to use Acer’s 3D CineReal technology. This technology enables the machine to convert 2D images to 3D without the use of a dedicated 3D GPU like Nvidia’s 3D Vision GPU which has been built specifically for this purpose. The CineReal technology along with the especially coated screen create a far enriching 3D experience that completely immerses the user into the movie, game, etc. This Centrino2 based machine comes with up to 4GB of RAM and TriDef’s special 3D software bundle that consists of the following:

* TriDef media player which offers 3D movie playback
* TriDef Ignition software that offers 2D to 3D video conversion for videos and games that use DirectX 9 and above

Thus, this system dispenses off the need to use a specialized GPU for creating 3D images. The exact specifications of this model aren’t out yet but, it is speculated that this notebook will cost about $1485. Well, I would definitely want to put on those polaroid 3D glasses and have a go at this machine once it hits the streets.

Dells Alienware M15x 15.6-inch gaming laptop is now available with the Intel Core i7 mobile processor, which is based on the latest microarchitecture called Nehalem.

Dells first Core i7 laptop is configurable with the Intel Clarksfield Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB cache), Intel Core i7 820QM 1.73GHz (3.06GHz Turbo Mode, 8MB cache) and the Intel Core i7 920XM 2.0GHz (3.2GHz Turbo Mode, 8MB cache). The m15x comes with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M 512MB or the GeForce GTX 260M 1GB dedicated video card, up to 8GB DDR3 1066MHz or 1333MHz memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space or a 256GB solid state drive, a DVD burner, Blu-Ray combo drive or Blu-Ray burner, and Windows Vista OS.

The display has a resolution of 1600900 or 19201080 pixels and LED backlight, while for surround sound there is a 5.1 speaker system.

The Alienware M15x is available with black, gray or red lid and starts at $1,499 at Dell.com.

Its preliminary ship date is 10/21/2009.

CyberPower already announced the Xplorer X7-Xtreme S1 notebook, which the company claims is the world’s fastest gaming laptop and its first laptop based on Intels Core i7.

Running on Core i7 and an X58 chipset, along with Nvidias GTX 280M, the base configuration of the 17-inch behemoth includes 6 GB RAM, a 350 GB HDD (an SSD is going to cost you), Firewire, HDMI, Bluetooth, 17-inch WUXGA (1920 X 1200) super clear glare screen display and a 3.1 mp webcam. Theres no word on how long the Li-Ion battery is going to last but we’re guessing not very long. The press release also doesn’t mention weight but by the looks of things, it’s a pretty heavy. The base model will set you back $2335 and ships with Vista Home Premium.

Some of you may remember back in February, when Eurocom announced that it would launch the worlds first Core i7 laptop in the form of the D900F Phantom i7 workstation. Based on Intels Core i7 and X58 chipset, the D900F packs 8 GB of RAM and Nvidias G280 GPU. All told the thing weighs 11.9 pounds and has a one hour battery life. AVADirect also launched a Core i7 laptop based on the same OEM model that Eurocom used. That machine is priced at $2538.26.
